First of all, this Zig Ziglar video reminded me entirely of Mr. Daly. The way this guy talks is hilarious and I love it. All these things that Zig Ziglar says is something Mr. Daly would say. I swear they are twins in the brain. Anyway, what Zig says is true. You have to change your attitude to change the way you see things. His example was a woman who didn't like her job at all. He told her to write down things she did like about her job and I swear it changed for her. Sometimes it's hard to change your way of thinking but it just might help. I tried to do the same thing with my last job. Sadly, it didn't work. I ended finding another job that I knew I would enjoy and now I'm so much happier. I still try to change my way of thinking if I don't like something, but if I ever need help, I go straight to Mr. Daly because he helps me with that.
Dale Carnegie said something like if you do the small jobs, the bigger jobs will take care of itself. I mean I don't really connect with this because honestly I don't fully understand what it means. I don't know what he means by "small jobs". That could be anything. Small things I have to do this week is probably just laundry. I don't look so far ahead like this month or this year. It comes up when it comes up. I'm afraid to go to college but I know I need to. I'm afraid of all the money I have to pay with all the things I have to do and I have no money. Dale Carnegie was known for his writing and lectures. He made a program to help with speaking and human relations. He wrote a book called Stop Worrying and Start Living and I should probably read that because I worry all the time.
There is a picture of heart, but not any ordinary heart. One side is black and the other side is red. On the black side, it represents hate. On the red side, it represents love. I think it is a really good representation of what hate does to your heart. It is like a black heart. In my life, it definitely has both sides of the heart. I mean there is the depression and anxiety in my life which represents the black part of the heart. On the other hand, I have my family and my animals that I love coming home to. The red definitely trumps the hate. I want there to be more love than hate in my life. It makes life easier and happier and that is not an easy task but I could try my best. Hate is never good but there will always be a little bit in your life but it is up to you to overcome it.
In the Les Brown video, "Why People Fail", he talks about goals. My one very important goal I want to achieve is to be successful. I want to have that big house and never worry about bills because I know I will always have it covered. I never want to stress like I see my mom do. My mom is great and she works her butt off, but no matter what, bills are just too much. I would love to work at a job that I love and don't dread going to every day. I know that is kind of a big goal but Les Brown says, "People fail, not because they aim to high and miss, but they aim to low and hit". He is absolutly right. You have to work for it. A smaller goal I have is to graduate from Wayne State. I already got accepted but I hope to graduate. I have no doubt in my mind that I won't, but things happen.
Poise, fight, and ambition are three words that will always mean something to me. Poise is just being yourself. Don't pretend to be someone you're not for someone to like you. You will find where you belong with just being yourself. Fight isn't like physically fighting but it is an enormous amount of effort you put in to something for yourself. You have to fight for what you want. It could be a new job or it could be a boy/girl. Doesn't matter, just go for it. Finally there is ambition. It is almost like fight but instead it is to achieve your goals. You want to go to college? Study hard, and you will get those good grades. It's all based on what you do to make yourself a better you.
